Resource centre is in full bloom!

SPRING is just around the corner and it's not just going to be a busy time for the birds and the bees, but for Limavady's Green Shed as well!

The group have just planted a range of beautiful flowering bulbs and are urging the public to come along and have a look at the great range of greenery. The garden centre has been a long term project of the group who commits itself to working with adults with learning difficulties, who assist in the planting of the varied range of greenery and bulbs available at the LCDI group. Hyacinths, crocus', daffodils and tulips have just been potted by staff at the former Roe Valley Hospital on Benevenagh Drive with the assistance of some of Benbradagh Resource centre's eager clients. In conjunction with the centre, the Green Shed project aims to encourage adults with

learning disabilities to assist in the production, care and selling of all plants for gardens. As well as the Spring selection there are also Christmas collections and summer bedding, shrubs, trees as well as hanging baskets and tubs, which can be made to order. This year the project will also be directing their services to grass cutting, trimming and weeding. All money raised from the project goes straight back into local job creation., to the enormous benefit of the community.

Kieran Corr, Manager of Green Shed said the success of the project was down to the great support of the public of the last number of years.

Kieran said: "We would like to thank people for their continous support last year and we hope that with the support of both the public and the people at Benbradagh Resource centre we can grow and flourish as a whole in the coming season."

"The great staff here at the centre is one of the big components as to why the project has been a success. Green shed is happy to welcome new supervisor Kevin Ward to the team who just started working on the project from January. Kevin came to us from the Western Trust and has built up a great rapore with the guys currently helping out here at the Green Shed."

Green Shed project Supervisor Kevin Ward comments: "The project can only go from strength to strength. As well as providing a great service to the public the clients at Benbradagh Resource centre who have the opportunity to help out benefit greatly from the interaction with customers and the confidence that they attain through working here."
