Response on anti-social behaviour

The South Area Manager for the Housing Executive has responded to Jo-Anne Dobson's call for housing reform in last week's Leader.

Denise McNally offered clarification regarding Mrs Dobson’s point on anti-social behaviour.

“All applicants for social housing are assessed according to the housing selection scheme and it is from this ‘waiting list’ Housing Executive and housing association homes are allocated according to need for in the area in which the applicant would like to live,” she said.

“As part of each applicant’s eligibility to access social housing, I can confirm any known case(s) of anti-social behaviour / breeches of tenancies are taken into account.

“However, the Housing Executive must have substantiated evidence before a person(s) can be ruled ineligible to access social housing.”
