Results of Autumn show

Hillsborough Horticultural Society’s annual Autumn Show 2014 took place in the Village Centre, Hillsborough on September 6, with an array of flowers, fruit, vegetables and home baking was well presented and adjudicated.

Some classes were highly competitive, like the flowering section. It would be unfair to highlight individual exhibits since there were many of a very high standard. However the judges were particularly complimentary about the dahlias and fruit entries.

Winners include National Dahlia Silver Medal Certificate - John Robinson, Lisburn; McCutcheon Cup - Joan Hamilton, Lisburn; Ray Martin Memorial Perpetual Cup - John Robinson, Lisburn; Morrison Perpetual Cup - Hilary Glenn, Dromore; McDowell Challenge Cup - Eleanor Alexander, Hillsborough; Blaris Cup - Margaret Kelsey, Dromore; Amy Green Memorial Trophy - Anne Malcolmson, Lisburn; Thompson Cup - Holly O’Neill, Anahilt Primary School; Eglantine Perpetual Challenge Rose Bowl presented to Hillsborough Horticultural Society competitor who achieved the highest points at Spring and Autumn Shows 2014 Eleanor Alexander, Hillsborough.
