“The promotion of Health and Wellbeing is a key priority for Resurgam and it was great to see entire families participate and take advantage of the free health checks and advice at the end of the event”

There was a number of prizes up for grabs and the following people won the various categories:-

1st Male - Stephen Megarry

1st Female - Olga Dominiak

Over 40 – Robbie Butler

Under 16 - Nate Burrage

Parent ‘n’ Pram - Andrew McBride

Adrian continued: “We would like to thank the following sponsors for their contribution on the night:- Lisburn City Council for the medals and six Awards for the winners of each category, SE Trust Health Development who provided 125 pedometers, Coca Cola HBC Northern Ireland for providing the bottles of water. “The funds raised which was over a fantastic £1,000 will go towards purchasing new equipment for the members of Laganview Community Gym.”

Resurgam’s Healthy Living Manager Gillian Lewis added: “Being active provides a number of benefits to your health and wellbeing including reducing the risk of a number of cancers and heart disease as well as giving you more energy and a general sense of feeling good. As winter approaches it can be more difficult to be motivated to go outside in the wet, cold and dark weather. So try to be a bit more active in your everyday activities like walking kids to school, take the stairs not the lift or you could find out about classes or visit your local gym for indoor activities”

We have already starting planning for next year’s fun run and we look forward to establishing our fun run as an annual event in the Resurgam calendar and look to make it bigger and better
year on year.
