The programme commenced on Wednesday August 13 between 12noon and 2pm.

However, from September it will be taking place on the first Wednesday of every month between 12noon and 2pm.

The programme will initially be presented by Resurgam’s Technical Business Link Worker Vince Curry.

“Whilst it is a bit nerve wrecking I am delighted to have this opportunity to help spread the word about the good work that we carry out in the community and how it benefits people from all ages,” said Vince.

“I hope with Resurgam getting involved it will help increase the numbers listening to Lisburn 98FM as we also feel it is important that local people should support their local radio station.”

The Resurgam Trust is based in the Laganview Enterprise Centre in the Old Warren Estate in Lisburn and works with community-based organisations across both Lisburn North and Lisburn South.

The group works in a wide variety of areas, including education and employment, community development, youth provision, social enterprise, community safety, health and wellbeing, and early intervention.

“We are a non-political organisation but feel that it is extremely important to build alliances and relationships with all locally elected representatives across all political divides,” explained Vince.

“Equally we want to reach out and build good working relationships with statutory, community and voluntary sectors in Lisburn and wider afield.” Lisburn’s 98FM is a community radio station which broadcasts 24 hours a day on 98.8FM from the Lisburn campus of the South Eastern Regional College with a team of talented presenters, lots of great music and the odd celebrity guest.

The station launched in June 2012 and has something for everyone with talk programmes covering current affairs, sport, cinema and local events plus a wide variety of dedicated music shows - from current chart toppers to well-loved songs from years gone by.
