Retail development at Riverside Centre refused

An application for a new retail development at the Riverside Regional Centre in Coleraine has been refused by Planners.

The application sought to permit the sale of convenience and comparison goods at unit 17. There were five objection letters to the application, which first appeared on the planning schedule back in October 2014.

Planning Officer, Michael Wilson told Coleraine Borough Council last week that an office meeting had been held about the application in November. He stated that as there are suitable alternative sites in Coleraine Town Centre, planners refused the application.

The Times understands that the applicant is Home Bargains, last year we reported that the retailer was seeking planning permission for a store at the Riverside Centre.
