Retail study to be carried out

A RETAIL capacity study is to be carried out in Coleraine, Ballymoney and Ballycastle.

A report on a meeting of Ballycastle Town Partnership said members were told a “condition of the proposed Coleraine and Ballymoney Masterplan is to carry out a retail capacity study. DSD have agreed to extend the scope of the retail capacity study to include Ballycastle.

‘The study will look at the current retail offering and identify any gaps. It will also include market research information on current consumer habits and future trends.

‘It is anticipated that consultants will be employed before the summer to commence this work with a draft report completed by late December 2010. The study will eventually become part of a new North East Area Plan,’ said the Moyle Council report.
