The proceeds from a recently held collection at the Tesco Extra in the town were presented to Mr Mark McGivern, Development officer for Angling First by Ann Ritchie, who is the Minorca Place store’s Community Champion.

Mark stated: “The total amount raised was £1056.04 and Angling First would very much like to thank the customers and staff who so very kindly supported our collection.

“The money raised will help the charity in getting kids off the streets and into fishing from the Carrickfergus area.”

Groups interested in a days fishing courtesy of Tesco Extra Carrickfergus are welcome to contact Ann.

In addition to the retailer’s national charity partnerships, it works with hundreds of charities and community organisations every year through relationships at a local level with the help of Community Champions, who work as ambassadors for the store within their area.
