Rev Park leads trip to Romanian centre

THIS summer, Reverend David Park from Ballymoney is leading a group of Free Presbyterian young people on a two week outreach trip to Romania.

The group will be visiting the Deborah House Centre in Timisoara; a home for abused girls, a juvenile prison in Buzias and an orphanage in Recas.

In each of these locations, Vacation Bible Schools will be conducted, incorporating Gospel lessons, crafts, sports and other activities. As a group they are aiming to raise 4000 Euro to provide insulation for the two Deborah House buildings - more of a necessity than a comfort as winter temperatures often fall to -20°C in Romania.

As a fundraising event, Joel Brown, Alice McKeown and Emma McKeown organised a Table Quiz on Saturday 1st June. 130 people attended, raising over £1,700 for the project.

Richard Montgomery kindly granted the use of Montgomery’s restaurant in Ballymena for the evening and, in numerous ways, including the donation of 130 desserts, helped make the event a success.

The organisers would like to express their gratitude to Montgomery’s for their assistance and generosity.
