Revitilisation plans for Cookstown

MID-ULSTER DUP MLA Ian McCrea has welcomed the announcement by party colleague and Social Development Minister, Nelson McCausland MLA that his department will be funding £106,000 to aid in a number of revitalisation projects in Cookstown.

These initiatives include projects such as free Wi-Fi, branded street banners, shutter art on vacant shop units, window displays on vacant properties and branded ‘bags for life’.

“We at Cookstown Council have long said that Cookstown is the retail capital of Mid Ulster and I welcome that Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland has endorsed that fact by allocating £106,000 towards initiatives within Cookstown town centre through his department’s ‘Revitalization Scheme,’ he said.
