Rifle Club still wait on planning response

A planning application by Loughbrickland Rifle and Pistol Club has hit a snag after they lost the opportunity to apply for funding from the Legacy Grant Scheme.

The application for a 100 metre shooting range, target storage shed and 30 space car park had been deferred by the council to the Management Board in October.

A timely response had been requested but at a recent meeting, concerns were expressed by Councillor John Hanna that a response had not been received, causing the application to miss the grant scheme.

Councillor Junior McCrum said he would investigate the issue.

The application for the premesis at 550 metres north east of number 2 Dechomet Road, Kilkinamurry Road had originally been meet with 23 objections from local residents concerned with noise polution and the affect it could have on wildlife.
