Ringland supportive of Larne but can’t wait till end of Council meeting

The only member of the public to attend the special Larne Borough Council meeting over the ‘I Love Larne’ documentary on October 27 was forced to leave after waiting for an hour to gain access to the council chamber.

Former British and Irish Lions Rugby International player Trevor Ringland, who is originally from Larne, said that he had hoped to attend the meeting to show support for his home town.

However, after waiting for an hour the Holywood resident had to leave.

Most of the two-hour council meeting was held behind closed doors, with the press only being admitted for the last half-hour to hear the mayor read out a prepared statement and councillor’s comments.
