Rio themed event a success at YMCA
Organised in partnership with Get Set For Community Action, an exciting programme which empowers young people to make real changes within their community, the first event took place on Wednesday April 20.
A group of 15 young people known as Action leads worked with around 100 adults from Carrickfergus Senior Gateway.

The evening included many interesting challenge stations, live music with bongos, cocktails and a final ceremony to acknowledge the achievements of all who attended.
Overall the event showcased the talent of young people from Carrickfergus and proved that through projects such as Get Set For Community Action, skills and talents can be discovered in a safe and encouraging environment.
The young people will be using what they learned from the initial event to plan and deliver another Olympic themed evening with residents from 1, Irish Gate on August 2.
