The money raised will go towards The Boom Foundation, a charity set up by Coleraine girl Leona Rankin who sadly lost her fiance, Philip Wilson to sarcoma cancer last year.

Money raised by The Boom Foundation is split between practical help and vital research into the disease.

Half of the money raised will stay in Northern Ireland to be used for sarcoma patients.

The other half will be used for vital research into the disease.

“My daughter thinks that I am mad, “ Rita told The Times.

“I have set myself a £1,000 target, and thanks to my friends at work, I have already raised £700.”
