Road clean-up is welcomed

A CLEAN-UP around Craigavon's roads has been welcomed by Councillor Tommy O'Connor.

The Sinn Fein man welcomed the work being carried out by Roads Service in the central area.

Mr O’Connor said: "A team of workers from Roads Service has been engaged in a clean-up of road signage within the area and have also been involved in removing the unsightly growth of weeds from the road and footpath edgings along the main roads.

"This work is welcomed by the local community but Roads Service now needs to expand this scheme and carry out the same work within the estates in the area.

"I will be contacting Roads Service with a view to having this programme of work expanded. I will also be contacting the other statutory agencies to ensure that they also do their part in maintaining the local environment.”
