Road due to re-open

THE Belfast Road between Magheralin and Moira is due to re-open today (Thursday).

As part of its programme of roads maintenance, Roads Service has been carrying out a contract to strengthen and resurface part of the A3 Belfast Road between Magheralin and Moira.

In order to reduce the overall time taken to complete the works on this busy road and to comply with health and safety regulations it has been necessary to have a road closure from the New Forge Road junction in Magheralin to the roundabout at Main Street, Moira since Thursday, August 4.

During this period traffic was diverted via junction 10 from Lurgan to Moira. Traffic travelling from the general areas of Lurgan and Banbridge to the International Airport at Aldergrove were made aware delays could be expected on the diversion route and should allow additional time for their journey or consider an alternative route.

Roads Service apologised to road users for the unavoidable disruption to traffic while the road improvements were carried out.
