Road improvements welcomed by MLA

Lagan Valley MLA Brenda Hale has welcomed the announcement by the Regional Development Minister of £7.8m investment in roads within the Lisburn City Council area.

Mrs Hale has lobbied the Minister extensively in relation to necessary improvements in the Dromara area in particular.

She said: “This announcement is a welcome and necessary investment in roads within the Lisburn area.

“It also comes after the recent allocation by the Finance Minister Simon Hamilton of £24million extra to DRD for roads structural maintenance, street lighting and network development.”

Mrs Hale continued:“I have been pressing the Minister within the Department for Regional Development for some time in relation to issues within the Dromara area in particular and would hope that this investment can see progress in relation to these.

“I will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure that there is an adequate investment in our roads within the wider Lisburn area,” she concluded.
