Road is 'a bit of a joke': Court

A DISTRICT Judge has described the overtaking lane on the A26 near Dunloy Crossroads "as a bit of a joke".

Des Perry was speaking at North Antrim Magistrates Court in Coleraine on Friday where it was heard a Coleraine man was detected doing 91mph in the 60mph zone.

The man was fined 125 and given three penalty points for speeding.

Referring to the overtaking section, Mr Perry said: “I have to say it is a bit of a joke. You are lucky if you are able to overtake a tractor on it.”
