Road schemes welcomed

Roads service commitments in Lisburn have been welcomed by Paul Givan MLA and Councillor Scott Carson.

The work includes a footpath resurfacing scheme this financial year in Coolsara Park and the placement of Beechdene Park on a draft resurfacing programme. Mr Givan said: “I am pleased that in spite of financial challenges Roads Service has given a commitment to complete works in Coolsara Park to the footpath infrastructure.” He added: “I further welcome that the road and footpath in Beechdene Park has been placed on a draft programme of works in the future.”

Mr Carson said: “Residents in Coolsara Park and Beechdene Park have raised the matter of the condition of roads with me and I am pleased that following representation these commitments have been given. Working with Paul Givan we will continue to lobby Roads Service to see that finance is secured for areas that require investment.”
