Road works to take place

Plans were announced for the completion of a road alignment scheme in March 2000.

The road alignment off Bridgend Road in Ballycarry was set to cost £25,000.

As part of the plans, the Black Hayshed Road was to be diverted away from the junction with Manse Road in the village.

A spokeswoman from the Department for Regional Development said that the work was expected to be completed by the end of March 2000.

Meanwhile, that same week it was announced that a major town centre survey was to be conducted in Larne.

It was to look into regenerating the Town Hall and other buildings. Councillors herd that this was to be part of a coordinated approach.
