Road works welcomed

The scheme which has already commenced will take approximately six weeks to complete and will provide extra drainage measures and a new surface from the cemetery as far as the Halftown Road.

Speaking about the improvements Mr Givan commented, “I welcome this major new investment being made by Roads Service in the Blaris Road. This section of road is a busy route used by many drivers on a regular basis and will greatly benefit from resurfacing and drainage works.”

He continued:” Roads Service, in spite of financial constraints, should be commended for prioritising Blaris Road and committing to undertake much anticipated remedial work to the road surface.

“An investment of this nature will increase the capacity of the road to withstand the increase in vehicles while also adding additional measures to reduce flooding along the stretch.”
