Roads investment

The start of a £130,000 resurfacing scheme on Seymour Street is set to commence later this month.

The scheme which includes the provision of a pedestrian crossing, on the slip road from Queens Road to Seymour Street, accommodated within the existing traffic signal arrangement is due to begin on February 24 between Belsize Road and Queens Road.

Transport Minister Danny Kennedy said: “This scheme will increase the life of the road, greatly improving the strength and ride quality of the carriageway along this busy route.”

Work on Seymour Street will commence each morning from approximately 9.30am and continue until 4.30pm each evening. During these works, lane closures will be in operation. The resurfacing will be carried out over four consecutive Sundays: February 16, 23 and March 2 and 9. During this phase of the works, a full road closure will be in place to ensure the safety of road users and the operation on site.
