The Northern Health and Social Care Trust is advising patients, visitors and staff of the planned roadworks near the hospital which may cause some disruption.

Roads Service’s proposed scheme of works will primarily affect southbound traffic leaving the M2 (those travelling from Ballymena/Coleraine direction) and traffic from the hospital travelling southwards (Belfast direction).

The work may also cause some disruption for traffic entering or leaving Antrim Area Hospital, particularly at busy times.

The Trust says it has been in contact with the Roads Service and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and a traffic management system will be in place.

Supervisors will also be on site to ensure ambulances take priority.

The Roads Service will be making every effort to ensure it is business as usual, however, with an expectation of some traffic disruption in and around the area the Trust is advising staff, patients and visitors to allow extra time for their journeys.
