Robber armed with a knife targets Dunmurry pharmacy

Shortly after 5pm the man entered the pharmacy on Kingsway and threatened staff.

He demanded they hand over money and drugs.

He made off with a sum of cash and a number of boxes of Diazepam tablets.

The robber is described as being around 5’11’’ tall, of slim build and wearing a cream coloured coat, grey track bottoms and a green scarf. He was also wearing gloves.

Although staff were not injured, they were left very badly shaken after the incident.

Detective Constable Fiona Mawhinney said: “”Diazepam is an extremely potent drug that should only be taken if prescribed by a physician.

“It can be extremely dangerous and even fatal in the wrong hands.

“Those who take such drugs when they have not been prescribed them are playing Russian roulette with their lives.”
