Robbers target computer store

A PC WORLD staff member was tied to a chair during a robbery at the Longwood Road business on Monday morning (January 9).

The man was approached by two masked men as he opened the store at around 7.30am. He was forced to take the robbers to a back office and to hand over money from the safe.

Speaking after visiting the store, MLA Paula Bradley said: “This was a terrible ordeal for the employee who was threatened and forced to hand over money.

“Those responsible for this crime cared nothing for the trauma they would inflict on this worker and the harm they would cause to this popular local store.

“We are all aware that these are difficult economic times and a robbery like this is extremely harmful for any retailer providing valued jobs and a service to the public.

“It is outrageous that some selfish and brutal individuals should plan and carry out such a crime. These people must be stopped and I urge anyone who has any information which could help the police to bring them to justice to pass on that information.”
