Robert Stewart, his family and a number of other helpers, had previously raised £4,000 for the Centre which supports cancer patients and their families, and inside a year they added this latest amount for the same organisation after a successful Easter draw.

Claire Hogarth from FoCC, was presented with a cheque at The Scenic Inn by Robert who was joined by members of his own family, and other supporters including Shirley McKinley, (Scenic), and Tom Christie.

A total of eighteen prizes were handed out in the draw that gained widespread support from the community reflecting the popularity of Robert who has been fighting prostate cancer for more than two years.

He has not allowed the illness to hinder his charity efforts and has already made plans for a further fund-raiser in the near future which he hopes will add considerably to the £8000 he has already collected for good causes.

Claire Hogarth said she has been very impressed by Robert’s efforts.
