Rockin’ good fun for big switch on

Motorists are advised to expect delays around Carrick town centre tomorrow (Friday) between 7.30pm and 9.30pm as the festive countdown gets underway.

The annual Santa parade and switching on of the Christmas tree lights will take place at the High Street and Market Place areas with a fireworks display in the harbour.

In his address, the Mayor, Alderman Jim McClurg, is expected to predict a bright future for Carrick with public realm works resulting in “an immensely improved town centre attracting inward investment and boosting tourism”, plus a major upgrade of Marine Gardens and Diamond Jubilee celebrations in June 2012.
