Rockpool Rummage at the Coastal Zone

A Rockpool Rummage will take place in the Coastal Zone Marine and Education Centre, Portrush, on Friday, August 10 from 3pm to 5.30pm.

Come and join the fun and search the shores around Portrush for weird and wonderful creatures that live in the ocean.

From sea anemones and hermit crabs, to limpets and shrimps there’s plenty waiting to be discovered.

You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in ‘real’ science by searching for rocky shore animals and seaweeds that are indicators of climate change, as part of ‘The Shore Thing’ project.

All of the information collected will feed into a national online database and will help build a better baseline picture of climate change across the UK.

Please note that this is a free event to celebrate National Marine Week. Booking not required. Run in partnership with Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust.

Suitable for all the family. Bring your wellies!
