Rodent order for Eglinton landowner

THE owner of a property in Eglinton was ordered to deal with a rodent infestation by Derry City Council during the summer.

An order was served on the owner of the property on the Tullanee Road under the Rats and Mice (Destruction) Act of 1919.

Elsewhere notices were formally served by the Council on the owners of properties on the Woodside Road, Braehead Road, Northland Terrace , Beechwood Avenue and Hawthorn Terrace for keeping ruinous and dilapidated buildings.

Notices requiring the abatement of nuisance was also served on the owners of properties in George's Street, Mountfield Road and Cable Street. During the months of July/August six No Fixed Penalty Notices were served for the Offence of Smoking in a Smoke-Free Place.

The Public Health action is detailed in a report of the Chief Environmental Health Officer before Derry City Council's Environmental Services Committee tomorrow.
