Roderic is new Rector

SEAPATRICK Parish Church is set to welcome a new rector with the Venerable Roderic West due to be installed within the next few months.

Archdeacon West is leaving St John’s Parish, Moira, where he has been ministering since 1995.

Married to Joan, he and his wife have two grown-up daughters - Claire is a teacher and Ruth a curate assistant at the Waterford Cathedral group of parishes.

Speaking to the Leader ahead of his move to Holy Trinity, he said he was looking forward to the move and to getting to know the local parishioners and working with them on all apsects of church life.

Archdeacon West was ordained at the Church of Ireland Theological College in Dublin and at Trinity College, Dublin, in 1986, and recently succeeded John Scott as Archdeacon of the Chapter of Dromore Cathedral.
