Rogue traders operating in Coleraine area

She said that in the summer months she had been door stopped by men selling various items - televisions, cameras and furniture.

Area Commander Nicky Thompson urged members of the public not to “get sucked in” by these traders.

He said: “If it sounds too good to be true, then it is.

“There are too many people getting sucked in, I have heard of people buying televisions which have nothing inside them, they are only a shell.

“If you get a knock on the door, shut the door straight away and ring the police with details of the seller and any vehicles they may be driving.”
