Rolling back the years leads to plenty of dancing in the aisles

DANCING in the aisles was the order of the night at the rock 'n' roll revival night in Larne's McNeill Theatre.

It was hosted by the Purple Events Company, whose two previous themed events - 40s wartime and 50s dance hall were very well received.

There was jiving in the aisles and the stands were literally bouncing as the audience could not get enough of the live show.

Esler Burke from Larne led a six-piece band back to the Buddy Holly years and paid a fabulous tribute to the big names of rock ‘n’ roll. His showmanship and stage presence entertained the audience on all levels and created a buzz of excitement as he introduced each big hit. Purple Events’ main performers Zolene and Ziqh Mayberry were also on the stage wowing the packed crowd with their talent and authentic presentation.

Cher (Charese) made a debut appearance on the night and by the audience’s reception will definitely return again in the future.

The Polk Dots dance group provided a very visual dimension to the show with their authentic dance moves.

Liam Kelly compered an audio-visual presentation taken from Esler Burke’s scrapbook. The audience shouted out familiar names and faces from those rock ‘n’ roll days.
