Romance in store for Asda Larne couples

Kirsty Reid, an administration colleague, and section leader Carl Heggarty in the home shopping team quickly built up a friendship at work.

“We always enjoyed each other’s company,” commented Kirsty, “we have a real laugh together.”

Having ‘checked out’ each other, the pair realised they might be more than just friends.

“We started seeing more and more of each other and our relationship blossomed from there - we share loads of common interests,” added Kirsty.

“I am lucky enough to own a horse and regularly compete in competitions. Carl has always been really supportive and can often be found down at the stables very early in the morning helping out. He’s so sweet.”

Emre Akarsu and Robyn McMichael started working part time in Asda Larne around the same time. Emre admired Robyn from afar until another colleague encouraged them to meet up outside of work.

After sharing a drink in a local wine bar, romance began. “It is hard to believe that even though we are the same age, both study at the University of Ulster and are both from Larne we had never met each other until we started working together” said Robyn, “we have Asda to thank for bringing us together!”

Now they have ‘bagged’ as each other as boyfriend and girlfriend, Emre and Robyn plan to travel round Canada and North America during their summer break from university. “I could not ask for a better travelling partner,” added Robyn.
