Rose seller knocked down at closing time

Details emerged this week of an incident in the town where a woman was knocked down by a car at closing time after a busy Saturday night.

The ‘MAIL’ understands the woman may have been a rose seller plying her trade as patrons exited pubs and clubs on William Street.

Police have appealed for information following the collision involving one car and a female pedestrian on William Street after which members of the public attacked the car that had struck her.

Constable Kris King, Craigavon Response, explained: “At 1.46am on Sunday, October 26 we received a report of a one vehicle collision where a white Kia Rio was in collision with a female pedestrian.

“Following the collision it was reported that members of the public started to kick the passenger side of the car.”

The scale of the woman’s injuries are not known as she was not at the scene when police arrived.

Constable King confirmed: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the female pedestrian.

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has information in relation to this incident. We can be contacted in Lurgan on the 101 number, quoting ref: 127261014.”
