Ross appointed to Policing Board

EAST Antrim MLA Alastair Ross has been appointed to the Northern Ireland Policing Board by DUP Leader Peter Robinson.

The Policing Board is an important body which oversees the work of the PSNI and the Chief Constable.

Commenting, Mr Ross said: “I am pleased to have been appointed to the Policing Board, and given the responsibilities that come with it.

Northern Ireland has come a long way in recent years but unfortunately there are still those in society who wish to drag us back to the bad days of our past.

“It is important that the PSNI are given our full support in tackling the terrorist threat and also in dealing with the other day-to-day issues that impact the lives of people in East Antrim and elsewhere.”
