Rotary Club tribute to late Bertie Troy

Bertie, former managing director of the Northern Newspaper Group, was a very popular and long serving member of the club for almost 50 years. He joined the organisation in 1965 and was club president for the year 1982-1983.

Throughout his membership Bertie gave freely of his time and expertise and made a substantial impact on the activities of the club. He held many roles but particularly valued the friendships he enjoyed through his commitment to the club.

The president of the Rotary Club of Coleraine, Milne Rowntree, said: “Bertie is described by his friends and associates as a “true gentleman. He will be sadly missed by all members of the Rotary Club, in Coleraine and across Ireland.”
