Rowandale Primary remembers little Noah

Rowandale parents Richard Horwood-Barrett and John McAviney will be cycling from Malin Head (Donegal) to Mizen Head (Cork), only 420 miles in four days, in memory of three year old Noah Connaghan who died of cancer.

Noah was a fun loving boy from Lurgan who died of a rare childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma a month before his fourth birthday.

The death of the young boy affected the school community that many of the children and their parents wanted to do something to help.

So in memory of a Noah desribed by many as a ‘truly inspirational’ young boy Richard and John both decided to take on the biggest challenge Ireland could offer. They hope to raise as much money as possible so other families can be given the support they need to fight this cruel and life threatening disease.

The children of Rowandale also worked very hard fundraising both during and outside of school.

They organised a number of events including bun sales, sponsored cycles, crazy hair days and pancake days - their way of also paying tribute to Noah, their friend’s brother.
