Rowandale Principal welcomes news of extra pupil places

Rowandale Integrated Primary School is celebrating the news that it will be able to offer more places from next September.

The Department of Education has given the go-ahead for increased enrolment at the thriving school in Moira and the staff and pupils are looking forward to welcoming up to 57 children into P1 next year.

Welcoming the news, Principal Frances Hughes said “Rowandale is the only integrated school in this area and this decision will ensure that all families who wish to choose integrated education will be able to do so.

“Our success has shown that integrated education is very important for families in this area and I am delighted that we will no longer have to turn any families away.”

It all began with 18 pupils. It rapidly grew to an enrolment of 197.

Now Rowandale IPS has a Green Flag award, International School status and offers wrap-around care, pre-school provision and excellent outdoor facilities.
