Roy Walker talks scripture online

STARTING this week, the Bible Society in Northern Ireland will be revealing the favourite Scripture passage of people from all walks of life.

Well known names in the world of Church, Broadcasting, Sport, Business and the Public and Charitable sectors have agreed to submit a verse or passage from the Bible and offer their personal reflection on why it has been significant for them in their life.

Each Monday over the next few months, the Bible Society will place a new contribution at www.bsni.co.uk/articles/39-scripture-insight, and it is hoped that as people visit and read these personal reflections they will find encouragement for the day and a spur to engage in more regular Bible reading for themselves.

Early contributers will include, Roy Walker (manager of Ballymena United FC - September 20) and Lynda Bryans (broadcaster, on 27th). BSNI plans to continue the series over the next year.

The Bible Society finances Bible translation and distribution in 30 countries worldwide each year but as we approach the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible in 2011, it is important to encourage people here at home to look at Scripture in new ways and to take a fresh interest in what the Bible has to say about the lives we lead today.

So, each Monday remember to visit www.bsni.co.uk/articles/39-scripture-insight and see which Scripture has been chosen by people in the public eye.
