Royal British Legion remembrance events

The entertainment will be provided by Michael Mawhinney and will ast from 8pm to late. .

Tickets are £5 each and can be obtained from Branch Officers, The Services Club or you can simply pay at the door.

Meanwhile, The Poppy Shop at the side of the Services Club will open on Saturday, November5 at 11am in the presence of the Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Cllr. Audrey Wales MBE along with Branch Officers.

A branch spokesperson said: “We will also be selling poppys at the Fairhill, Tower Centre, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.

“The Branch would also like to thank all those establishments in the town who have taken poppy boxes to sell on behalf of the Royal British Legion.”

The Remembrance Day Parade on November 13, will form up at the Services Club, Trostan Avenue at 10am to march off at 10.25.

The parade will then proceed along the usual route to the Memorial Park for a short service and wreath laying.

The parade will leave the Park at approximately 11:10 and march to West Church for a church service, where members of the Legion and those on parade will take part in the service.

Afterwards, the parade will leave West Church and proceed back to the Services Club via Wellington Street where the Mayor or her representative will take the salute.

There will be a warming bowl of soup at the club after the parade - for those who were on parade only.
