Royal Wedding grants are now available

COMMUNITY groups keen to celebrate the Royal Wedding this month could benefit from a £200 grant for a festival or street party.

Banbridge District Council was due to vote last night on a proposal to hand out up to £4,000 for celebrations between Friday April 29 and Monday May 2.

Pending its approval at yesterday’s council meeting, local groups are invited to apply for the funding by 12 noon on Wednesday April 13.

Constituted community groups wishing to run an event that weekend will be able to apply for assistance towards the costs of equipment hire, entertainers or music.
