RSPB members hear about the Portmore Lough Project

THE monthly meeting of the Coleraine branch of the RSPB was held in St Patrick's Minor Hall last Monday.

The guest sepaker was Mr John Scovell manager of Portmore Lough Reserve.

Members enjoyed an excellent film show and talk on the Portmore Lough Project.

The Reserve is an important area for birds like Greglag Geese, Pink Foot Geese and diving ducks who spend their winter in Ireland.

Peter Robinson, Treasurer of the Coleraine branch thanked John for his informative talk.

The montly raffle was won by Barbara Compton.

The March field trip will be to Portmore Lough Reserve, members are asked to meet at the Christie Memorial Car park at 8.30am.

The next monthly meeting will be held in St Patrick’s Minor Hall, Coleraine, on Monday, April 19 at 7.30pm.
