Rubber duck race for Foyle Search

Young people from Londonderry will release rubber ducks into the Foyle this Sunday (December 15) are part of Co-operation Ireland’s National Citizen Service’s ‘quacking’ fundraiser for Foyle Search and Rescue.

The team of 15-17 year olds have decided to carry out ‘A Bitta Quack’ rubber duck race down the River Foyle as part of their social action project for the National Citizen Service programme.

Ducks will be launched from the Peace Bridge in the heart of Londonderry at 2pm on Sunday (December 15).

Corrina Crooks, Project Manager said, “We are delighted that this group of young people have worked to together for the good of their community.

“The project aims to bring young people together and develop life skills while making new friends. Its great to see these young people make a positive impact to their city.”
