Rubbish problem at flats

According to one resident the noisy neighbour is responsible for ‘emptying’ most of the flats around him.

He’s been blamed for smashing windows, setting fire to property and dumping rubbish outside the building.

Surgical needles have been among the rubbish, it’s been alleged.

The lady said: “These properties were fine until he started renting. Since then nearly all of the ten flats are vacant.

“He has been responsible for kicking in doors, arson, smashing windows and terrorising tenants. He dumps his rubbish, which includes used needles, outside the building.”

The woman claimed neither the authorities nor the landlord or management company have been able to rectify the problem.

A council spokesperson said: “The Environmental Health department at Craigavon Borough Council has been taking steps to try to resolve the issue of illegal dumping at this particular address and have served both a notice and warning letter to the tenant.

“They have also been in contact with the landlord, however to date, no action has been taken by either the tenant or the landlord.

“If the rubbish is not lifted the council may consider initiating legal proceedings.”
