Rubbish set alight destroys three stores

Three commercial premises on the Pembroke Loop Road have been destroyed in a fire during the early hours of this morning (Tuesday). The properties were a chip shop, a taxi office and a convenience store, known locally as the Colin Centre.

It was reported to police at around 4am that the three properties were on fire. It is believed at this stage that rubbish had been stacked up to the front of the properties and set alight. The three units were totally destroyed in the fire.

Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
