Ryanair route chief lands to launch schedulefor Winter 2016

Ryanair's Director of Route Development, Kate Sherry touched down at City of Derry Airport on Tuesday, April 12, to announce the airline's local Winter 2016 schedule, which will include nine weekly flights to London Stansted and five weekly flights to both Glasgow International and Liverpool.

She said that the three popular routes will together deliver around 300,000 customers whilst supporting 200 jobs at the Eglinton airport over the course of a single year.

“We are pleased to launch our Derry winter 2016 schedule, with three routes to Glasgow International, Liverpool and London Stansted, which will deliver 300,000 customers p.a. and support 200 ‘on-site’ jobs at Derry Airport,” she said.

“To celebrate the launch of our Derry winter 2016 schedule, we are releasing seats for sale from just £19.99 for travel in November, which are available for booking until Thursday, April 14.

Roy Devine, Chairman of City of Derry Airport stated: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Ryanair’s Director of Route Development, Kate Sherry to City of Derry Airport this morning for the launch of their Winter 2016 programme. “Ryanair continues to offer our customers here in the North West, low cost air travel to London Stansted, Glasgow International and Liverpool.”

Regional & City Airport’s Contracts Director, Clive Coleman, outlined: “City of Derry Airport encourages all travellers within our local catchment to think about flight options from their local airport when making future travel arrangements”.

Mr Coleman emphasised that air passengers should ‘Think Local and Book City of Derry Airport.’

“We have fantastic facilities on our doorstep and it is essential everyone takes advantage of their local airport for their travel to England and Scotland.

“Approximately 300,000 passengers travelled to and from CoDA in 2015 and we look forward to continuing to serve the local people in our area,” he said.

Northern Irish consumers and visitors can choose from three Londonderry routes in winter 2016 and can look forward to further improvements, as Ryanair continues to grow strongly, while improving its customer experience through the “Always Getting Better” programme, which includes more new routes, a new app, new cabin interiors and new crew uniforms.
