Sainsburys shows its support for local carers

SAINSBURYS is helping to support carers in the Lisburn area with the launch of a new partnership with the charity Carers Northern Ireland.

The partnership was launched this week at an in-store coffee morning for carers at the Sprucefield store.

There are about 207,000 carers across Northern Ireland looking after a family member or friend who needs extra help because they are frail, ill or have a disability. The coffee morning was an opportunity for local carers to get a much needed break and have a chat with people in a similar situation.

Carers Northern Ireland say they are delighted that Sainsburys is recognising the invaluable work carers do and is supporting the charity with fundraising activities and making information for carers available in store.

They say without the right support, caring for someone can affect your own health and wellbeing.
