Saint-Gobain safety award for Ballyclare Weber site

WEBER, the world's leading manufacturer in the external wall insulation (EWI), renders and decorative finishes, construction mortars, flooring systems and tile fixing markets, has been awarded the Saint-Gobain Safety Diamond Award for its manufacturing site in Ballyclare.

Ballyclare is one of only 25 sites to receive this prestigious award in 2010.

The award recognises the improvements in Health and Safety systems at the Ballyclare site and is testimony to the hard work and commitment of its team over recent years.

The site has been regularly audited for its safety systems - for team behaviour and team spirit, and knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, which ensures a safer and more comfortable working environment for employees.

The award was handed to Plant Manager Liam Campbell by Pierre-Andre de Chalendar, Saint-Gobain CEO at a ceremony in Paris.

“This Diamond is one more step forward in making sure that everyone at Ballyclare goes back home at the end of the day in the same condition he or she arrived in,” said Liam.

“The appearance of the site alone compared to three years ago speaks volumes, and every member of the team is acutely aware of how greatly improved our location now is.”

The team will now focus on continuous improvement to ensure these standards are maintained for the benefit of everyone.
