Saintfield garden open to the public

SAINTFIELD: Open Gardens offers an opportunity to explore the secrets of hidden and private gardens not usually open to the public and the 2012 season draws to a close as Drew and Pamela Wylie open the gates of their Saintfield garden on Saturday July 7 and Sunday July 8 from 2pm to 5pm (Admission £3).

Situated at 94a Monlough Road, this is a two year old modern home with a rustic fascade set in the drumlins of Co Down with superb views to the east and south.

The large contemporary designed garden was the winner of the prestigious ALCI ‘Bog Oak Trophy’ in 2011, and the house won the BBC ‘House of the Year’ in 2012.

The large well planted garden makes great use of the site levels incorporating numerous ponds and water features. A unique children’s play area and pleasant patios help to bring garden and house into one living experience.
