Saintfield Road works are welcomed

LAGAN Vallley MLA Edwin Poots and Alderman Paul Porter have welcomed the £100,000 spent by the Road Service on the resurfacing of the roads and footpaths on the Saintfield Road in Lisburn.

“The resurfacing of the Saintfield Road is very welcome and comes on the back of the footpath resurfacing that took place last year,” said Mr Poots. “This preparation work carried out by Roads Service ensured that when much needed finance became available, the resurfacing of the Saintfield Road was able to be completed.”

Mr Poots continued: “As elected representatives we have pressed for additional funding for roads in the Lagan Valley constituency and this is one such project that has benefited from the £100,000 that has been secured.

“This significant investment is key for one of our gateway corridors leading into Lisburn city centre. Obviously this will provide a much better surface for road users and it also gives Lisburn a better appearance for the many people that visit our city.”
